Tanisha Gunby
Tanisha Gunby is an undergraduate student at UCLA majoring in Psychology. Under the faculty mentorship of Dr. Sumner, her research project seeks to identify early risk factors for adverse outcomes after stroke while patients are still under the supervision of healthcare providers. This may lead to early prevention efforts for those at risk. She will be examining the association between skin conductance reactivity to recalling the stroke/transient ischemic attack (TIA) traumatic event in-hospital and sleep outcomes, such as sleep quality and duration, one month after a stroke/TIA. Besides research, Tanisha enjoys teaching arts and crafts to promote wellness in the community.
