Wanchen Yu
Wanchen Yu is a fourth-year Psychology and Communication student at the University of California, Los Angeles. She has always been interested in the field of examining social connections and the impacts of Artificial Intelligence on human perceptions and behaviors, particularly where these intersect with specific roles and cultures. Her current research explores how various types and ideologies of AI-generated content influence trust within collectivist communities in the U.S. Using a combination of experimental surveys and focus groups, she aims to better understand how communication norms and cultural dynamics shape people’s perceptions towards AI technologies. This research not only investigates the expanding influence of AI but also highlights the critical needs to comprehend how technology-driven communication can better align with diverse cultural frameworks, ultimately fostering more inclusive and equitable digital ecosystems.
