Mengtong Pan

Mengtong Pan is a senior double majoring in Statistics and Psychology with a specialization in computing. She has been involved in the Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience Lab since her sophomore year, and presented a research project on the relationship between brain cortical thickness and working memory among people with schizophrenia. After taking a Psychometrics class in which she developed a new personality trait survey for better internal consistency, she became interested in applying statistical methods to rising issues in psychology and decided to pursue a second degree in statistics. Under the supervision of Dr. Katherine Karlsgodt, her current research seeks to understand the relationship between psychotic-like experiences and cognitive functions to develop models for understanding what factors may predict the continuing high levels of psychotic-like experiences.
