Megan Losinger
Megan Lonsinger is a fourth year English major and Food Studies minor. More specifically, her literary interests are in late medieval and Renaissance literature. For her departmental honors thesis, she is examining the roles and representations of food in late medieval literature. By examining the intersections of history, theology, gastronomy, and poetry, her thesis will contextualize the moral and bodily economies of food in late medieval England. In addition to being an Undergraduate Research Scholar, Megan is a Fellow with the UC-wide Global Food Initiative. As a GFI Fellow, she will use her scholarship in English literature to explore how sustainability not only constitutes technical practice, but mindsets defined by what, how, and why people choose to consume. Megan plans to pursue graduate study in English with maintained foci in medieval literature and food.
