Madeline Marron
Madeline Marron is a 4th year Political Science and Psychology double major. Madeline has always been a caring and inclusive individual since she was a child. This has transcended into her academic career as she works to give a platform to those who are typically left out of the academic conversation. Her familial relation to the Latino community and her curiosity about how beliefs shape decisions led her to research the Latinos who voted for Trump in the 2016 Presidential election. She is studying the characteristics of the pan-ethnic identity of Latinos in the United States and their relation to voter choice during the 2016 Presidential election. She is using semi-structured interviews to understand her candidates on a personal level to answer the “why” of many empirical conclusions. After she graduates from UCLA, she plans to attend law school in the hopes of fighting for the voice of those who have been silenced.
