Jessica Ho

Jessica Ho is a fourth-year student majoring in Sociology. She is interested in becoming an academic scholar in the future, and her undergraduate honors thesis is about social movements in Hong Kong. Participating in a social movement five years ago in Hong Kong made her decide to study sociology. Her project focuses on the radicalization of the frontline protesters in this movement. She wants to know how protesters become radical in this movement by conducting online interviews with them. Using the lens of the framing process, she is interested in how the protester’s emotion is constructed in this movement. She hopes to discover how this emotion becomes a drive for protesters to decide whether they want to participate radically in a social movement.
