Ivana Damjanovic

Ivana Dama is a third-year majoring in Design Media Arts. Her project Music Mouse aims to elevate the importance of data centers within urban landscapes by providing them with unique sound signatures. Born and raised under a post-communist regime in Serbia, Ivana explores the infusion of technology with traditional art practices. To achieve such a goal, she proposes to create a web-based application that takes a user’s location and orientation and triggers keys on piano based on that user’s spatial relation to nearby data centers. Users would be able to walk, bike, or drive around the UCLA campus and by changing their physical location they will change the sound. This application would allow UCLA to have a site specific interactive map application that would have dynamic audio sources, users as audio sources, pervasive/ubiquitous games, social networks.
