Eden Moyal
Eden Moyal is a 4th-year Linguistics & Anthropology major with a minor in LGBTQ+ Studies. Having spent many years living in multiple languages and multiple cultures, one of her main interests is the intersection between language and culture, and how the language someone speaks interacts with the way they see the world – especially among marginalized communities. Her URSP research focuses on the speech patterns of non-binary individuals – whether there are speech features that are necessarily characteristic of or used by nonbinary speakers, and whether people change their speech patterns, consciously or not, after they come out as nonbinary. She plans to pursue graduate study in sociolinguistics and to conduct further research on mixing language and identity.
