Doris Vidas
Doris Vidas is a fourth-year Anthropology major and Linguistics minor pursuing College Honors. She is the president of the Cotsen Archaeology Association and co-president of the Undergraduate Anthropological Association as well as a member of the Tau Sigma Honors Society. She currently conducts research into the Fayum region of Egypt with Dr. Willeke Wendrich of the Cotsen Institute of Archaeology. She utilizes excavation datasets to construct an interactive and all-encompassing map of a Greco-Roman granary in order to test the feasibility of using GIS as a platform for creating a centralized database of excavation finds. Additionally, she investigates the granary’s expansion from a residential home in the fourth-century A.D. and uses the granary  as a microcosm to track the socioeconomic developments of the Fayum region during the Roman period. After the completion of her undergraduate studies, she hopes to pursue a Master’s and subsequent PhD in Archaeology. After earning her doctorate, she plans to pursue a position in teaching while continuing to explore research and publication opportunities, as well as engaging in cultural heritage management in the Mediterranean.
