Nyala Bela Tringali-Carbado
Nyala Tringali-Carbado is a third year History and African American Studies Major who has focused their work on understanding racial dynamics in the Black Panther Party. Though many researchers have analyzed The Black Panther Party, most have ignored, and at times erased, black women from the discourse. This erasure has left a significant gap in our historical understanding of the Party—especially as it relates to women’s roles and experiences. Nyala hopes to use their understanding of intersectionality to look critically at the Black Panther Party, their power dynamics, and their relationship to gender.
