Urvi Tushar Shah
/by amelia boehUrvi Shah is a fourth-year Cognitive Science major with a Specialization in Computing. She is working on a project investigating two-year-olds’ skills while participating in video calls with their parents. Over the past few years, it has become more common for younger children to be exposed to video chat but children’s understanding of video chat has not been extensively researched. In this project, Urvi looks into the effects of parents’ emotions and cognitive language on children’s skills when taking the perspective of their video chat partner. She hopes to determine the type of language that tends to be the most helpful in promoting children’s understanding of video chats. Apart from her research, Urvi is also involved with Wazo Connect, a peer mental health mentoring organization. After graduation, she plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology.
