Christian Watson

Chris Watson is a fourth-year student at UCLA majoring in Psychology and Biology. She has conducted other research projects through programs like Research Rookies and Psychology Research Opportunity Programs (PROPS) before joining the Undergraduate Research Scholars Program. She plans on pursuing a Ph.D. in Social Psychology and is very grateful for every research opportunity she has had thus far, for each opportunity has solidified her passions in research and psychology.

Chris has always focused on how certain components of our identity can influence social and personal experiences. Her current project is exploring how the intersectionality between gender identity and ethnic identity can influence an individual’s sexual attitudes. This project analyzes the intimate relationship that gender and ethnicity have, and how this relationship bleeds into sexual perspectives and even activities. Prior research has mainly looked at sexual activity, so she hopes to uncover new and insightful information.
