As an outcome of her creative research project, Miglė is producing a series of visual artwork in response to the question raised, which will be exhibited in the Spring of 2023. She argues that the expression of femininity can be narrowed down to a number of characteristics and is not necessarily in relation to gender, sexual identity, or social roles. Her work and explorations are largely based on the analysis of femininity in mythology and philosophy.
Outside of her majors and creative research project, Miglė is exploring femininity in fashion. She is creating a collection that will be on the FAST, UCLA’s biggest fashion club, runway in May 2023.
Miglė is a third-year UCLA student coming from Lithuania completing a double major in Art and Design Media Arts. Miglė’s research project is focused on finding or advancing toward a definition of femininity in contemporary art, as well as predicting its representation in art in the future.
