Mariah Lima

Mariah Lima is a fourth-year Political Science major with an Environmental Studies minor here at UCLA. She is a first generation college student from Los Angeles who considers herself a passionate advocate for environmental justice and sustainable development. These passions drove her to pursue the research project, “Resource Wealth and the Climate Refugee Crisis in Latin America” which explores the environmental-related causes of migration patterns in resource-rich countries. While she pursues this project in the Fall, she is also studying abroad in Madrid, Spain and interning remotely with the USAID’s Venezuela Regional Crisis team. Post-graduation, she hopes to work with a non-profit developing innovative projects to address climate change in Latin America.
