William Foote
William is a third-year Statistics major with a minor in Public Affairs under the fa faculty mentorship of Dr. Marika Csapo. His research project combines his interests at the intersection between statistics and public policy by looking for predictors that make certain California’s counties more successful than others at implementing the CalFresh program. William was adopted from Hanoi, Vietnam, at 6 months old, and grew up in Turlock, California. Using qualitative and quantitative analytical strategies, William hopes to provide insights that can optimize the program’s reach and enroll as many eligible participants as possible.
