Diana Castro
Diana Castro is a fourth-year Transfer majoring in World Arts and Cultures. . Diana’s current research project investigates how migrants, Indigneous people, and womxn+femmes use art to resist colonialism and patriarchy. Through this research project, Diana hopes to support and uplift movements that are helping her communities. She is a Peruvian-American immigrant currently residing on Tongva land, also known as Los Angeles, CA. She is also a radio intern at Fem Newsmagazine. She enjoys reading, making all types of art, and travelling. Diana’s previous research is focused on immigrants, healing justice, and how queer womxn use art to overcome trauma As a firm believer in the transformational capacity of art, Diana hopes to one day create spaces of artistic discovery in her communities.
