Sabrin Sidhu
Sabrin Sidhu is a third year Psychobiology major who is currently pursuing a comparative literature project in the medical humanities. Having loved cooking and baking since junior high, her current research combines her favorite hobby with her intellectual interests. Specifically, under the guidance of medical humanities world expert Massimo Ciavolella, Sabrin is examining the evolution of Western diet in relation to health and medicine. She is comparing the dietary trends of civilizations like Ancient Rome to the trends of later civilizations, and in doing so, she seeks to understand how changing medical traditions influence dietary recommendations in relation to illness. By applying lessons from the past, she hopes to improve our understanding of diet today. After graduating, Sabrin plans to take what she has learned from the humanities and apply it to medicine.
