Taylor Gomez-Douglas

Taylor Gomez-Douglas is a fourth-year Education and Social Transformation and Political Science student. As a Jamaican and Filipino scholar, college has challenged his sense of self, community, and culture. Where standard coursework has granted little insight on personal affairs, research elevates unique experiences and encourages the exploration of lesser-known phenomena. To this end, Taylor’s thesis investigates the impact of campus structures on social navigation for multiracial undergraduates at UCLA. He hopes to revitalize conversation about campus accessibility and challenge definitions of diversity, equity, and inclusion for current and future Bruins. He encourages participation in research as a means of instruction, therapy, and civic engagement and intends to pursue a PhD in the social sciences.
