Ashley Potter

Ashley Potter is a third-year Political Science major with a concentration in Political Theory. Her thesis sets out to investigate the immediate impact of non-political media narratives on voting choices, as well as the correlation between individuals’ pre-existing partisan beliefs and their media consumption habits. As a part of the Political Science Departmental Honors Program, Ashley is passionate about exploring the intersection of media and politics in America. She believes understanding how media influences voter behavior is crucial in today’s digital age. Beyond her academic pursuits, Ashley enjoys her involvement in extracurriculars: she is on the executive board of the USAC IVP Office and the ALD|PES National Honor Society. Currently, she works for the City of Los Angeles as an Administrative Intern in Homelessness Outreach. After completing her undergraduate degree, she plans to pursue graduate studies in political science to get a Ph.D. and continue her research.
