Vana Matevosian
Vana Matevosian is a third-year undergraduate student majoring in psychology at UCLA. She has been working as a research assistant in a clinical psychology lab since the summer before her first year. As an Armenian-American first generation college student, she is passionate about reducing cultural stigma around therapy. She is also interested in improving diagnostic criteria and the classification of different psychological disorders. Vana plans to pursue a Ph.D. in clinical psychology. Her project for URSP focuses on the relationship between reward processing and overgeneral memory in depression. Her goal is to refine our understanding of the mechanisms behind depression and thus have an improved capacity to make treatments more effective.
