Sophia Siqueiros

Sophia Siqueiros (she/her) is a fourth-year majoring in Political Science and double-minoring in History and Global Studies. Her research project explores the extent to which Feminist ideology and activism have shaped University of California campuses. Utilizing both historical and contemporary research angles, Sophia will survey students’ support for the establishment of a women’s center at UCLA and, most excitedly, become the first person ever to document a  comprehensive history of UCLA’s 1972- 2009 Women’s Resource Center (WRC). Sophia strongly believes that the history of the UCLA WRC is an important story that will inspire UCLA students to advocate for a more equitable allocation of resources on campus. Aside from her own research endeavors, Sophia is also involved in the Undergraduate Student Association and the Women’s Empowerment Coalition.
