Olivia Bridgnell

Olivia Bridgnell is a third-year majoring in History. Her research project analyzes Egyptian women’s involvement in agricultural production and food consumption from 1800-1914, considering women’s integral position as agricultural laborers throughout the 19th century. Her research examines how women interacted with food (as both producers and consumers) as agricultural practices and the socio-political environment changed over time. She is interested in women’s history, African history, and other historical topics such as agriculture, religion, and gender. Besides her research and education endeavors, she works as a Peer Learning Facilitator for Academic and Student Services. Olivia also wrote for the Daily Bruin Arts & Entertainment section during her first two years at UCLA.
