Lilit Ghazaryan
I am a senior at UCLA majoring in Linguistics and Anthropology and minoring in Russian Language. I am originally from Armenia and was born and raised in the capital city, Yerevan. My academic journey in the US started at Los Angeles City College, where I received the necessary foundation to eventually transfer to UCLA. My academic goal is to get a PhD in Linguistic Anthropology and dedicate my research to the underrepresented community of the Armenian-American diaspora, especially the children who grow-up in the bilingual and bicultural environment. My interest in the field of bilingualism and peer language socialization was partially inspired by my two-year-old daughter who is growing up in a diverse multilingual environment and is learning to skillfully manipulate the languages she is exposed to.
