Arya Pragya
Pragya Arya is a senior double-majoring in Psychology and Economics. She is working on a Psychology departmental honors thesis about the impact of family economic hardship on adolescent stress. She is interested in looking at whether positive family relationships can buffer the influence of hardship on stress. Teenagers are not in control of their family income and are subject to any strain it might cause in their lives. But if their relationships with their parents and siblings can help reduce this stress, they can actively make decisions to improve their well-being. She hopes her work can have practical implications in the everyday lives of adolescents. After graduation, Pragya plans to apply to PhD programs in psychology, and wishes to do research on the effect of social and emotional factors on decision-making.
