Urania Li

Urania Li is a fourth-year student at UCLA, double majoring in Business Economics and Political Science with a focus on political theory. As a first-generation college student, she is deeply committed to both her academic pursuits and community service, actively participating in programs such as Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and China Care Bruins. Her research project, Rethinking Confucianism and Constitutionalism: The Political Thought of John C.H. Wu (1899–1986), examines the intersection of Confucian philosophy and modern constitutional theory, focusing on how Wu’s ideas influenced the political and legal development of constitutionalism during China’s republican period. This work is driven by her passion for Comparative Political Theory, sparked by a graduate course with Professor Parasher in Fall 2023. Looking ahead, Urania plans to apply to law school next year, aspiring to become a lawyer specializing in international law.
