Kiana Karimi
Kiana is a fourth year psychobiology major. She is involved in interdisciplinary research and extracurriculars, such as being the Editor in Chief of the undergraduate research journal Aleph and Secretary of the Bruin Blood Initiative club. Her research involves interviewing nutritionists at hospitals in the South Bay to determine the shortcomings in nutrition for patients and ways to improve their dietary needs. She will also be looking at ultra-processed food in a patient’s diet and how much of the food patients are eating are composed of these foods that have at least one ingredient that cannot be found in a typical kitchen.
