Charlotte Sky Oxley

Charlotte Oxley is a fourth-year Film and Television Major and a Cognitive Science Minor. She is completing a departmental thesis film for her directing concentration which centers on two young sisters who need to learn to rely on each other to mitigate the stress and anxiety of going back and forth between their divorced parents’ houses. She will be working with and directing children on this sensitive topic to create a 12–minute short film. Charlotte is deeply interested in how people interact and how stressful experiences affect kids. In focusing on themes of family, strength, and mental health, she translates research on how divorce affects children into a film that accurately represents divorce from a child’s perspective. Charlotte’s career goal is to impact others with the films she creates and to show the beauty of life on film. She aims to put women in front of and behind the camera to showcase the work of talented female artists and filmmakers.
