I am a fourth-year student double majoring in Applied Mathematics and Economics with a minor in Statistics. I am interested in financial data and my research projects aims to model biotechnology companies stock prices around important FDA announcements and drug approval dates. Through my research I hope to quantitatively understand the behavioral aspects of finance as volatility in prices could reflect public uncertainty. I also aim to provide evidence or an instance of when the Efficient Market Hypothesis is violated which can help contribute to further academic studies in this area, and even help build a more accurate theory. After graduation, I hope to pursue a doctoral degree in Statistics.
