Nicole Xu

Nicole is a senior studying Psychology and Statistics & Data Science. She is broadly interested in children’s cognitive development, with a particular interest in their reasoning and problem solving skills. Her departmental honors thesis examines how embodiment of individual functions help children understand conceptual compositionality. She aims to gain a deeper understanding of children’s reasoning abilities by exploring the challenges they face during the process. She wants to complete a PhD program in Developmental Psychology and make contributions to the boundary of knowledge in the fundamentals of human cognition. Outside of research, she loves figure skating, ultimate frisbee, cooking, and traveling.
