Ellie Park

Ellie Park is a third-year double majoring in psychology and English. She is a part of the Daily Bruin and HOOLIGAN Theater Company and enjoys the various recreational classes offered at the Wooden Center. After graduating, her next destination is law school, where she will focus on entertainment and criminal law. Ellie’s research project—inspired by her observations as a fan—aims to study the use of marketing artist-fan intimacy in the KPop industry to attract fans and how these bonds impact their (the fans’) larger communities. She hopes her project will allow for a better understanding of pop culture, in addition to a recognition of the intersectionality between foreign music and American society. Furthermore, she plans for a follow-up project next year that will allow her to study the impact of KPop on the Western music industry and vice versa.
