JOIN US FOR UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH WEEK 2020

Undergraduate Research Week showcases and celebrates undergraduate student research and creative projects across all disciplines. Open to all UCLA undergraduates in all majors, the week provides opportunities for students to present their work from the past academic year to the UCLA campus community, alumni, and visitors.

Undergraduate Research Week 2020 is scheduled for May 18 – 22, 2020.

We’re combining Research Poster Day, the Oral Presentations, and the Multimedia Salon in-person events into one all-day virtual Undergraduate Research Showcase on May 19, 2020!

UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH SHOWCASE: TUESDAY, MAY 19, 2020

Students from all majors and minors will share live-streamed and pre-recorded video presentations of their research and creative projects at this virtual event, hosted on the Undergraduate Research Week website.

Pre-recorded video presentations will be shared with the general public and campus community throughout Undergraduate Research Week (May 18 – 22, 2020).

Live-streamed presentations will feature panels of 4-5 students, followed by a Q&A with the audience during each 90-minute session on Tuesday, May 19:

  • Presentation Session A: 12:30-2:00pm
  • Presentation Session B: 2:00-3:30pm
  • Presentation Session C: 3:30-5:00pm

Apply to participate: Abstracts due April 15, 2020

  • All students are encouraged to submit abstracts to participate in the Research Showcase. To access the application: go to MyUCLA and choose “Campus Life” then “Survey.”
  • You will be able to choose to whether you wish to do a live or pre-recorded presentation in a brief survey that you will receive after you apply to the virtual Research Showcase via the MyUCLA survey.
  • Pre-recorded presentations are due Friday, May 8, 2020. Submission instructions will be shared after April 21.
  • Be sure to read the Abstract Guidelines. The Undergraduate Research Center is also offering abstract and virtual presentation workshops to help you create your abstract and virtual presentation.

UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH WEEK AWARDS CEREMONY: FRIDAY, MAY 22, 2020

Join us for the virtual Undergraduate Research Week Awards Ceremony from 2-3:30pm on Friday, May 22, as we celebrate the accomplishments of UCLA’s undergraduate student researchers and announce Dean’s Prize, Faculty Mentor Award, and Library Prize for Undergraduate Research winners. The Awards Ceremony will be hosted on the UCLA Library Facebook page via Facebook Live.

ADDITIONAL EVENTS

In addition to the Undergraduate Research Showcase and Undergraduate Research Week Awards Ceremony, departments and programs across UCLA are celebrating Undergraduate Research Week with online exhibitions, poster sessions, and presentations. We invite you to join us for these virtual departmental events.
