We’re looking for submissions that reflect the diverse ways in which LGBTQ+ scholarship approaches and influences research, creativity, and practice. This is an opportunity to explore how queer and trans* identities, experiences, and perspectives offer new frameworks for understanding the world and challenge dominant knowledge systems. Currently enrolled undergraduate students at UCLA or other California universities and colleges are welcome to apply. Identifying as a member of the LGBTQ+ community is not a requirement to apply, but proposals will be reviewed in relation to the organization’s purpose and symposium theme. Please note that if accepted, you will need to participate in person and cover your own travel expenses. Lunch will be provided. Accepted applicants will be expected to prepare a 10-15 minute presentation of their research to be delivered at the conference. Presentations will be organized by the committee into thematically-linked panels with 3-4 presenters and a moderator.
