Our office is exercising caution with regard to COVID-19, and our staff are working remotely until further notice. Although we cannot meet with you in person, we are ready to assist you remotely with advising appointments via Zoom. Students can dial in by phone or join with video on Zoom.


Current UCLA undergraduate students can schedule 30-minute one-on-one advising appointments with our Graduate Student Mentors during fall, winter, and spring quarters. Graduate Student Mentors are available to discuss topics related to research and creative projects such as identifying research interests, getting started in research or creative inquiry, forming a research question, writing a research or creative proposal, applying to scholarship programs and graduate school, and finding a faculty mentor.


Graduate Student Mentors are available to meet with current UCLA undergraduate students during the following times weeks 1-10 in fall quarter. Appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis and availability may be subject to change.

  • Monday: 11 a.m.-1 p.m.*
  • Tuesday: 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m., 2-4:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 9-11 a.m.*, 1-3:30 p.m.
  • Thursday: 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
  • Friday: 9:30-10:30 a.m.*, 1-2 p.m.*

*Designated appointments may be reserved for current and prospective MMUF participants.


You can schedule a 30-minute one-on-one appointment with a Graduate Student Mentor on MyUCLA:

  1. Visit MyUCLA and select the “Academics” tab
  2. Click on “Appointments” and select “Create Appointment”
  3. Select the “Undergraduate Research Center” from the drop-down menu
  4. Select an appointment time and submit

Once your advising appointment has been scheduled, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to join a Zoom meeting with a Graduate Student Mentor. Click the link in the email to join the video appointment at your scheduled time, or dial-in to your appointment with your phone. You can also find the Zoom meeting links to your previous and upcoming appointments by checking “Appointments” under the “Academics” tab on MyUCLA.

If you are joining with video, please turn your video on for the duration of your appointment. Please be patient if you join the Zoom meeting and your Graduate Student Mentor is not yet available.
