Our office is exercising caution with regard to novel coronavirus (COVID-19), and our staff are working remotely until further notice. Although we cannot meet with you in person, we are ready to assist you remotely with advising appointments via Zoom. Students can dial in by phone or join with video on Zoom.


Current UCLA undergraduate students can schedule 30-minute one-on-one advising appointments with our Graduate Student Mentors. Graduate Student Mentors are available to discuss topics related to research and creative projects like identifying research interests, getting started in research, forming a research question, writing a research or creative proposal, applying to scholarship programs, and finding a faculty mentor.


Graduate Student Mentors are available to meet with current UCLA undergraduate students during the following times weeks 1-10 in fall quarter. Appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis and availability may be subject to change.

  • Monday: 1-2 PM
  • Tuesday: 2:30-5 PM
  • Wednesday: 11 AM-1:30 PM
  • Thursday: 12-2 PM, 2:30-5 PM
  • Friday: 1-2 PM


Advising appointments are available weeks 1-10 during fall, winter, and spring quarters.

Once your advising appointment has been scheduled, you will be emailed a link to join a Zoom meeting with Graduate Student Mentor. Please click the link in the email to join the video appointment at your scheduled time, or dial-in to your appointment with your phone. If you are joining with video, please turn your video on for the duration of your appointment. Please be patient if you join the Zoom meeting and your Graduate Student Mentor is not yet available.
