Undergraduate Research Week: May 23-27, 2016

Undergraduate Research Week showcases and celebrates undergraduate student research and creative projects. Open to all UCLA undergraduates engaged in research and creative projects, the week provides opportunities for students to present their work to the campus and broader community.

Step 1: Apply to Give a Poster or Oral Presentation!
Research Poster Day (May 24)

Abstracts due: April 15, 2016

All students are encouraged to submit abstracts to participate in the Research Poster Day portion of Undergraduate Research Week. To access the application: click here (the application will be available in February) OR go to MyUCLA and choose “Campus Life” then “Survey.”

Be sure to read the Abstract Guidelines and Poster Guidelines. The Undergraduate Research Center is also offering abstract and poster workshops to help you create your abstract and poster.

Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences Oral Presentations (May 26)

Abstracts due: April 15, 2016

Due to space limitations, students applying to give oral presentations must first have been nominated by their department. Students who have been nominated will receive e-mail notifications of their nomination by the end of March. If you wish to be nominated, ask your faculty mentor or departmental counselor about the nomination process. To access the application: click here (the application will be available in February) OR go to MyUCLA and choose “Campus Life” then “Survey.”

Be sure to read the Abstract Guidelines and Presentation Guidelines. The Undergraduate Research Center is also offering abstract and presentation workshops to help you create your abstract and presentation.

Step 2 (optional): Apply for Awards and Funding!

Applications due: April 19, 2016

All students are encouraged to apply for the Outstanding Poster Award and Outstanding Oral Presentation Award. If you're giving a poster, you are also encouraged to apply for a UCLA Library Research Poster Grant to fund your poster printing. Click here for more information!
